The 4th Annual Pumpkin Carving Bash was a big, goopy, orange, fun-filled time.  As usual, L. scooped and I carved.  There was a predominance of scariness this year, perhaps due to the economic and political climate… or perhaps just because scary is cool.

So like a self-ingesting ouroboros, the techni-mystical Web-Bot is counting down to a time of great consternation, especially for those who ride the bulls and wrestle the bears of the financial markets, which should be upon us in a matter of, oh, any second now.  We have already seen the reactions of our government fail to respond with anything approaching reassurance, though no one really seems to understand what the big deal is, or how the ramifications of all of this collapsing and acquiring and bailing and rescuing will really affect them personally.  One confidant of mine reminds me that in these times, “cash is my friend”, but then again cash has always been my friend, although sometimes a fickle one who doesn’t come by for weeks at a time.
