Chapter Four:

...Hellbound

Again, Garvyn offered no explanation, other than his apologies for trapping the party in, as he said, this prison of his own making. The ship was still bound for Graben island, and the party had no other choice than to continue on. Soon, the routine of the voyage was again interrupted by the arrival of another ship, but this ship turned out to be a small sloop, piloted by a strange man. The newcomer was an elf, but not one from the world that the rest of the party heralded from. His name was Storin, he claimed to be a mage from a world called Krynn. He agreed to join the party and lend his services in seeking, eventually, an escape from this strange dimension.

Over the next few nights, Charlotte and Jacob both made repeat appearances, but no more more of their mysteries were revealed. Then, one night, another stranger appeared -- a ghostly woman named Madeline. The party confronted her, and learned that she, like Jacob and Charlotte, was an unquiet spirit that was cursed to haunt Garvyn and his ship. The nature or origin of the curse was not known, except that Madeline blamed the Graben family of Graben Island for her restlessness. She pleaded with the party to ease her torment. Garvyn offered nothing but silence.

Later that night, the Hellbound pulled into port at the village of Graben...
